Surkhet: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has stated that Nepal Police did not violate human rights while transferring leader Rabi Lamichhane between districts. Speaking at the Karnali Province-Level Security Seminar, he clarified that Lamichhane was moved from Chitwan to Pokhara at night for his own safety.
"The government is committed to upholding the human rights of all citizens. No one’s rights have been violated, nor will they be," said Lekhak. "The transfer of Rabi Lamichhane was solely for his security. Where is the question of human rights violations in this context?"
The Home Minister also addressed ongoing investigations into alleged embezzlement in cooperative organizations. He criticized efforts to disrupt the process by gathering crowds and staging protests outside police and government offices, describing them as attempts to influence the investigation and judicial proceedings.
"Demonstrating on the streets to interfere with court functions or investigations is unacceptable," he added, urging the public to respect the legal process.
Regarding the political coalition, Lekhak affirmed its stability, stating that it will remain intact until the next general election.
